London Stansted Airport Drop-Off PCN

London Stansted introduced their drop-off charge in November 2012. The drop-off zone at London Stansted seems to be operated by NSL. NSL supplied and operates the new Videoalert system in the drop-off zone and short stay car parks. The Videoalert system helps them fight against drivers who tailgate the car in front of them to avoid paying fees. If you are caught by the Videoalert system in the drop-off zone, you will be sent a London Stansted Airport Drop-Off PCN by NSL.

How To Pay The Drop-Off Charge

How To Pay The Drop-Off Charge

Appeal London Stansted Airport Drop-Off PCN

As you need to pay the fee before exiting the drop-off zone, if you receive a fine or charge from Stansted Airport Limited, it is unlikely to be a conventional Parking Charge Notice and probably due to breaching another part of their terms and conditions.

For example, there have been reports of people getting a Parking Charge Notice for stopping on double yellow lines outside London Stansted Airport, so be aware of possible charges from Stansted Airport Limited. So for that reason, it is recommended to seek professional legal help on that matter if you are not willing to pay.

However, if you left the drop-off zone without paying, you could attempt to appeal the penalty due to Schedule 4 of The Protection Of Freedoms Act (POFA). However, also be aware of land that is covered by byelaws, which some airports are, as the appeal may not be as straight forward.
