Aberdeen Airport introduced a charge to drop off passengers in January 2015. In the terms and conditions, it states that contract for parking is made with Aberdeen International Airport Limited. So if any breaches of the parking terms and conditions are made, then you will likely receive a Parking Charge Notice from them. The fee is payable at the exit barrier, so it is unlikely you will receive an Aberdeen Airport Drop-Off PCN.

- £10.00 for 30 minutes, and;
- £30.00 for 1 hour.
If you are dropping off a passenger that requires additional assistance, or will be taking longer than ten minutes, it may be more cost effective to use the Short Stay Car Park. As it is:
- £4.00 for 20 minutes, or;
- £8.00 for 1 hour.
How To Pay The Drop-Off Charge
The drop-off charge is payable at the exit barriers. Payment is by credit or debit card, contactless payment methods or using the correct change. A change machine is located in the shelter on the forecourt.
Appeal Aberdeen Airport Drop-Off PCN
After some research, there doesn’t seem to be anything in relation to fines or charges for breaches of Aberdeen Airport’s terms and conditions. This could be due to the fact you need to pay the fee before exiting the drop-off zone.
However, if you do receive a fine or charge from Aberdeen International Airport Limited, it is unlikely to be a conventional Parking Charge Notice and probably due to breaching another part of their terms and conditions. This is because in their products and services terms and conditions, they state that you enter a contract with them when using the car parking.
If you do receive an Aberdeen Airport drop-off PCN, you could attempt to appeal the penalty due to Schedule 4 of The Protection Of Freedoms Act (POFA). However, something else to be aware of is land that is covered by byelaws, which some airports are. This makes the appeal process not as straight forward. So for that reason, it is recommended to seek professional legal help on that matter if you are not willing to pay.
Do You Have To Pay To Pick Up From Aberdeen Airport?
Aberdeen Airport’s Long Stay Car Park offers 30 minutes free parking. You can then take a five minute shuttle bus to the terminal to drop-off and/or pick-up passengers. There is only free parking for motorcycles at Aberdeen Airport. The designated motorcycle parking area is within the Short Stay Car Park.
The only other free option could be to try and find some free street parking somewhere. The closest location for this that has been discussed is the Kirhill Industrial Estate. However, this isn’t advised due to leaving your vehicle in an unsecured location for a period of time.
